Weave

Sample 1. The idea of this first section on weave was to explore the different techniques and effects of different types of fibers/ yarn. I instantly found a few favourites one being the honey-comb.

Sample 2. This sample was mainly to test my curiosity on how paper yarn could work within a weave.
the structure is alot more sturdy.

Sample 3. For this sample i tried to take inspiration from the drawing of a multi-story car park. Unfortunately as i was still learning, the spaces i created inbetween didnt hold very well.

Sample 4. I decided to take inspiration for my continuous line drawing for this sample. As i favoured the honey-comb technique i decided to keep that as a base and use my fingers to randomly add in a black peice of yarn. Overall i think its a good strong outcome.

Sample 5. I decided to keep this sample fairly simple and concentrate more on colour as most of my samples had been quite neutral. I think the texture of this piece works very well as i have used very soft velvet like yarns.

Sample 6. Although its very neural, its my favoure peice and i think it adds a sense of being calm.
Here i have used a wool to do bands of honey comb then a fluffy yarn to do a complementay twin weft pattern.
