front design

Time Erosion

Front Design created a floor that is based on time erosion. The idea is the hole floor was painted gold and the covered over by a grey layer. The used a certain type of grey paint so that when people walked on the floor it rubbed away the grey layer reveling the gold. This in turn shows the most walked n areas in the room.

Time Erosion - project proposal

Personal brief
Time Erosion
For this project I am going to explore the natural erosion that occurs. I am mainly interested in exploring my close surrounds like for example my halls and university building gathering primary research. I wish to utilise these findings in order to explore various patterns and textures which can then be incorporated into a surface design. I order to achieve a successful design I need a large body of exhausted research of found marks. I will also gather some secondary research from books and the internet in order to support and nourish my findings.

Weave 3

Think this is a successful piece. A lot more texture present.

I decided to use paper threads in which i dyed to get the wood colour.

Development on layering of wallpaper

Left. Looked at the contextual research in order to exam the lines and forms created by the layers.

Right. An exaggerated cross section of how the layers of wallpaper would sit on the wall.

Think both pictures worked well. Really like some of the shapes created in the left picture.

Colour study - Contextual image.

Find this picture in prticular really imteresting. Really like the amount of layers and the in depth colour pallet.

Charles Linden- Farmhouse Renovation

Really like the colouring and layers in both Photograps. Ties in nicely with deconstruction with it being decaying wallpaper.
